Seeing One of My Projects Come to Life🥃✨🥂

Evolution Trade Show 2024

After the completion of my internship at Whyte & Mackay, I was given the opportunity to join my team at the Morton’s Evolution Trade Show at The Platform in Glasgow - an invite-only event that showcases the latest innovations and trends in the food and beverage industry.

This was my first time attending an event like this and I had a great time! I met loads of passionate spirits' enthusiasts and it was a great opportunity to network with people within the industry and learn about brands I'd never heard of.

The Project💻

During my time working with Whyte & Mackay, I was involved in various different projects but this was my favourite!

My team and I worked with a creative agency to create stands that showcase three of the brands for three different trade shows: Evolution, Tennents and The Whisky Show.

I would have loved to attend all three shows however, I couldn't due to the duration of my internship. Therefore, I was very grateful to have been invited to attend Evolution in Glasgow after the completion of my internship.

I thoroughly enjoyed being part of interesting meetings and discussions from the beginning to the end of the process of creating these stands. Also, knowing that my opinion was considered and I added value to the project is exciting.

Jura🏝

Jura is a Single Malt Whisky made by a tiny island community. We tried to present this by giving the stand an island theme as shown below.

The Dalmore 🦌

Dalmore is the most prestige brand on the portfolio at Whyte & Mackay with competitors such as the Macallan.

It has a very strict rule book telling us which colours and textures can be used etc.

We also offered an exclusive behind-the-curtain tasting session with a brand ambassador🥃

We were able to sneak in a quick 5-minute taster session in between the bookings and it was very interesting and entertaining!

The Woodsman🪵🔥

The Woodsman is a blended whisky centered around a woodland theme.

Therefore, we tried to create a campfire theme for this stand.

We offered free samples of smores (which were delicious and went down a treat!🍫)

We also had a fire pit🔥 (fake fire for safety reasons!) which I unfortunately do not have a photo of.

Barry the Beaver also made an appearance!🦫

You might recognise him from one of my blogs.

Which one of the stands is your favourite? Let me know in the comments below!

This a a photo of a drink and recipe that I tasted and really liked from a brand I had never heard of!

I highly recommend it if you like spicy or bitter drinks!

Let me know in the comments which drink(s) you typically go for on a night out!🍸

Overall, I had a great experience at the event. It was a great way to wrap up my time working with the On-Trade team at Whyte & Mackay!

I loved having the opportunity to see one of the projects I worked on over the summer come to life and celebrate our hard work with my team!🎉

In the future, I hope I get a chance to attend another event like this.
