My Visit to Glengoyne Distillery🌾🥃

The Glengoyne Distillery🏭

Glengoyne is a Highland Single Malt Whisky brand owned by family-run, Ian Macleod Distillers, located about 40 minutes outside of Glasgow.

Due to such a positive experience on our first distillery tour at Auchentoshan, my dad and I decided to take a visit to the distillery which is also close to where we live!

Before we began the tour, we had a nosey in the gift shop...🛍

I liked the fairy lights✨✨✨

There was loads of branded merch!

There were various product displays

If you visit whilst on a tour, you get a discount on most of the products so, my dad treated himself to a 12 Year Old and a branded Glengoyne glass!🥃

In the gift shop, they displayed some drink recipes for people to try which I thought was cool and I'm definitely going to try them!

Honey Bee Recipe🍯

50ml Glengoyne 10-Year-Old
20ml Lemon Juice
10ml Honey Syrup
Top with Ginger Ale
Garnish with a Lemon twist

Would you try this cocktail? Let me know in the comments🍋

Fun fact: Edinburgh Gin is also owned by Ian Macleod Distilleries.

The group bought the brand just before the gin market took off!🍸

We kick started our tour in a little room where we met our lovely guide, Arthur, who made our experience memorable!

He used the display on the wall to give us information about the background of the distillery and it's connections with other brands in the industry which I found interesting!

Arthur then walked us around the distillery whilst explaining the production process.

He was very knowledgeable and had us laughing the entire time!

We had the chance to taste the 10 Year-Old and 15 Year-Old and we learned about the differences in their tasting notes!🍏🥜

I highly recommend this tour to everyone - even if you have no connection to the industry!

I would have loved the opportunity to visit one of the brands I worked with during my time completing my internship. However, visiting other brands' distilleries was a great opportunity to learn more about other brands in the industry.
